Lake Oswego Interceptor Sewer- Lake Down

Project Description

Following AAC’s successful completion of the LOIS Lake Full project, AAC was awarded the marine support subcontract for the Lake Down phase of the project. AAC’s subcontract includes four design/build packages including; a wind and wave anchor system, a free end pipe restraint system, tether support brackets, and lowered sewer pipe barge crossings. The wind wave anchors and free end restraint system included placing 3.4M pounds of concrete anchor blocks in precise locations along the length of the lake.

The Lake Oswego Interceptor Sewer’s buoyant sewer line is a prime example of state-of-the-art design and technology. AAC participated in both main phases of the Lake Oswego Interceptor Sewer Replacement Project, and looks forward to successfully completing Lake Down with James W. Fowler Co. in the Spring of 2011.

Replacement of the interceptor is critical to ensuring the environmental protection of Oswego Lake and maintaining sewer service for residents. The existing interceptor is undersized, resulting in overflows during heavy rains, and is vulnerable during an earthquake.
